    Responsibilities

    Performs a variety of imaging procedures and is responsible for patient safety protocols.  Functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs.  Participates in CQI activities. Competency will be maintained in accordance with criteria defined by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

     

    • Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high strength magnets and related equipment to produce special images of specific body parts.  
    • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff.
    • Take thorough and accurate patient medical histories and notify the Radiologist as necessary.
    • Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedure performance.
    • Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during exam.
    • Coordinate work with clerical personnel and other technologists.
    • Start I.V's and administer contrast media as directed and per protocol.
    • Monitor patients' conditions and reactions, reporting abnormal signs to physician.
    • Responsible to take call and follow callback guidelines.
    • Assist other technologists during downtime.
    • Assists in training of students and ancillary personnel.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Graduate of an accredited Radiology technologist program is required
    • 1+ years of previous X-Ray Tech experience preferred
    • Experience working in fast-paced environment preferred
    • Must have current ARRT and TDH license 
    • Registered in Computed Tomography preferred
