Overview

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Flower Mound is a hospital where employees want to work, physicians want to practice medicine and patients receive exceptional health care. We are passionate about operational and service excellence. Do you have what it takes to part of the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Flower Mound team? Recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Healthcare, Texas Health Flower Mound has an exciting opportunity to add to our family. We are looking for an Overnight Clinical Staff Pharmacist to add to our team.

The Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Flower Mound Department of Pharmacy Services operates 24/7/365.  We have at least one pharmacist and one technician present at all times.  We utilize CareConnect (Epic) as an electronic health record system with full Computerized Physician Order-Entry (CPOE).  We provide medications decentrally by leveraging Pyxis automated distribution cabinets in all nursing and procedural areas.  Sterile compounding is done in our TSBP-compliant clean room.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Clinical Staff Pharmacist who can provide full-time coverage during the overnight shift 7 on/7 off.  Weekday shifts are from 9pm-7am and weekend shifts are 7:30pm-7am.

Pharmacists work within the EHR to review patient information and verify orders.  Checking first doses, sterile compounds, Pyxis refills, kits/trays, controlled substance auditing, and electronic documentation are examples of other daily activities.

Training time will be determined based on candidate's previous experience and comfort level.  Initial training will include sterile compound training which will supplement the candidate's ACPE-accredited sterile compounding course which must be completed before beginning (commonly through pharmacy school).

Full-time pharmacy staff may participate in benefits (medical, dental, etc.), earn paid time off (PTO) each pay period, receive shift differentials depending on time and day worked, may contribute to a 401(k) plan with employer matching, and participate in the hospital's gain sharing program.

Qualifications

-Texas State Board of Pharmacy Registration REQUIRED.

-ACPE-accredited Sterile Compounding Certification REQUIRED (e.g. from pharmacy school or other source).

-Previous hospital pharmacy experience REQUIRED.
